Dear Pet Friends,

 

Wow, what a difficult time this has been during the COVID 19 pandemic!  We had to close access to the sanctuary at the onset of the quarantine and could only care for the animals, and later opened for appointments only to approved adopters. Fortunately, we had 14 adoptions of cats in June.

 

We have had to cancel all fundraisers and adoption events during this time period which includes 2 Bingo events that are primary fundraisers.  The pandemic has closed our host facilities and limitations in group size have restricted our host facilities and locations.

 

In the meantime, funding the sanctuary has been very difficult.  Our team has been applying for every source of funding that has been available. The reality is that there is so much need and not enough funds out there to cover all who are requesting so we are reaching out to you today.

 

This is an appeal for donations to help keep this dog and cat rescue open.  Several rescues in the area have closed permanently.  The board of directors of Chesapeake Cats & Dogs would really like to keep the organization operational.  Please consider a donation at this time.  The cats and dogs will be grateful especially the cats in the community outdoor area.

 

We are in need of volunteers to help in so many ways. If you can give, even a few hours a month, the animals will benefit. We will gladly provide a list of areas where you could help the animals in need.
